Tupac was born in New York to Afeni Shakur at the New York University Hospital. Tupac developed in Afeni's womb while she was doing time for charges of conspiring to a bombing plot to areas in NYC. While in the Women's House of Detention (Greenwich Village), Afeni had to fight to be able to nourish Tupac. Through harsh conditions, Tupac entered this world on June 16th, 1971, he was a fighter. Billy Garland is Tupac's biological father, however, it was over 20 years until Tupac met him. Billy Garland was not around. Afeni Shakur was part of the Black Panther Party, she joined in 1968. It was the affiliation she had with the party that landed her in jail. Unfortunately, the time and circumstances, in 1971, forced Afeni to move her family around NYC, living in shelters when necessary. Afeni raised her family by the Church. They attended Reverend Herbert Daughtry's The House of the Lord in Brooklyn. According to the Reverend Daughtry, at 10 years of age Tupac wanted to be "a revolutionary" (p.2-RftHoI). In 1983, at the age of 12, Tupac enrolled in the theater group- 127th Street Ensemble. He began his public image acting in the performance A Raisin in the Sun. In 1985 Afeni moved her family to Baltimore, Maryland. Tupac was enrolled in the rolling Park Junior High untill the 8th grade. He than got accepted to the Baltimore School of the Arts, where his talents as an actor, rapper and dancer bloomed. Tupac met a special friend, Jada Pinkett, whom he shared time with and created performances for anyone interested. It was at this time that Tupac really started rapping, recieving the nick name MC NewYork. In 1988 Afeni moved the family to Marin City in California. June 16th 1971 - Tupac Amaru Shakur is born to Afeni Shaur and Billy Garland in NYC. | 1971 to 1985 - Lived in NYC- Bronx and Harlem September 1983 - Afeni enrolled Tupac in The 127th Street Ensemble - a theater group, he performed in his 1st production at The Apollo Theater in Raisin in the Sun. 1985 - Afeni moved her family to Baltimore, Maryland. January 17, 1992 - Tupac plays a role in the film "Juice". April 1992 - There is a claim toward Tupac for the shooting of a Texas trooper. 19 year old, Ronald Howard, had Tupac's album "2Pacalypse Now" in his tape deck. August 22, 1992 - Tupac and --------- have a shoot out and the 6 year old dies. Febuary 1993 - "Strictly for my N.I.G.G.A.Z" is released, 2nd album which hits platinum�. July 23, 1993 - Tupac stars in the film "Poetic Justice". November 18, 1993 - Tupac is accused of sexual assault by a 19 year old. March 23, 1994 - Tupac appears in the film "Above the Rim", with his group's track "Pour Out a Little Liquor".-2 million copies sold. September 7, 1994 - There is a claim toward Tupac's song "Souljah's Story" by 2 teens who murder a police officer. The teens say Tupac's song was their inspiration. November 1994 - Sexual assault trial begins�. November 31, 1994 - Tupac is found guilty of sexual assault, but is acquitted of sodomy and weapon charges. Tupac is sentenced to eighteen-month to four and one-half years. Febuary 14, 1995 - Tupac begins his sentence in the New York's Rickers Island penitentiary. April 1, 1995 - "Me Against the World" Tupac's 3rd album goes double platinum in almost 7 months. May 1995 - Tupac marries Keisha Morris. October 1995 - Tupac is relased from Jail by "Suge" Knight (CEO of Death Row Records) who pays $1.4 million. Tupac signs a record contract with Death Row, in LA April 25, 1996 - "All Eyes on Me" goes quintuple platinum. May 1996 - "2 of Americaz Most Wanted" video is relased staring Tupac and Snoop Doggie Dogg Sept. 4, 1996 - Tupac returns to NY for the MTV Music Video Awards Show and gets into a fight�� Sept. 7, 1996 - Tupac is shot 4 times, 2 shots being fatal. Sept. 13, 1996 - Tupac dies.
